Dotmatics Ltd, a scientific informatics software and services company focused on automating laboratory data workflows for scientific discovery and innovation research, announced it has been selected by Croda International Plc to implement its Research and Development (R&D) digital program. Croda is known for high-performance ingredients and technologies used in major global brands, creating and selling specialty chemicals relied on by industries and consumers.
This project will enhance Croda’s ability to innovate collaboratively, both internally and externally, by delivering improved data science capabilities across the company’s global R&D knowledge base through the implementation of Dotmatics’ electronic lab notebook (ELN).
With this initiative, Croda aims to accelerate innovation delivery, enhance customer collaborations, and generate growth through impactful, sustainability-driven solutions. By intensifying its data-driven approach to innovation, Croda will move towards data mining, providing a foundation for artificial intelligence and machine learning efforts to shorten product development lifecycles. Investment in a knowledge management platform supports Croda’s strategy to further innovation and increase its proportion of new and protected products.
Dotmatics will provide Croda scientists with a complete ELN solution, including experiment capture, entity registration, sample tracking, data retrieval, and full data analytics. The unified platform will support Croda’s workflow across biotechnology, synthetic chemistry, analytical chemistry, formulation, and claims substantiation. This will allow researchers to trace, share, secure, and exploit all their R&D data internally, as well as facilitate collaboration with external partners, including customers and academic institutions.
