Data-Driven R&D in Chemicals & Materials: Why an Open Platform is Essential

The webinar titled "Data-Driven R&D in Chemicals & Materials: Why an Open Platform is Essential," presented by Max Petersen of Dotmatics, discusses how a unified, open scientific data platform enhances interoperability among existing R&D IT systems, supports diverse scientific workflows, and empowers researchers in chemicals and materials industries to tackle challenges like sustainability by enabling comprehensive, strategic data access.

Dotmatics envisions that scientific applications operating on a unified, data-centric platform enable unparalleled insights. This webinar explores the implications of such a platform in chemicals and materials R&D, focusing on workflow complexity, variability in data types, and the breadth of scientific disciplines that need support.

With comprehensive access to research data, scientists are better equipped to address major challenges such as sustainability, energy, and food supply. This need for robust data infrastructure is driving organizations to invest in open platforms. The webinar includes examples of recent efforts in this area.

Key Learning Objectives

  • An open scientific platform provides unified access to data.
  • Existing R&D IT systems can remain in place while enabling full data interoperability.
  • Unified access to data is foundational for data-driven R&D, data modeling initiatives, or any organization aiming to use their data more strategically.

Who Should Attend

  • R&D managers, directors, and VPs of R&D
  • Laboratory managers
  • R&D IT professionals
  • Lead scientists in materials science, chemical industry, energy, and consumer packaged goods (CPG)
